My Journey
My name is Megan Walker. I am a Registered Practical Nurse and the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care, and WillowCare Health and Home. My work is dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to individuals of all ages, with a particular focus on medically complex children and their families.
My passion for pediatric care began at a young age through volunteering at events for children with special needs and coaching in Skate Canada’s CanSkate program. These early experiences shaped my commitment to inclusive, community-based healthcare and continue to influence every aspect of my work today.
Throughout my nursing career, I have had the privilege of supporting children in both clinical and home environments. I was honoured to become the first Registered Practical Nurse to receive both the Nurse Innovator Award and the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, recognizing my contributions to pediatric healthcare and innovation in home-based services.
Community involvement remains an important part of my mission. I have supported hospitals and healthcare organizations across Ontario by providing comfort kits to families with children receiving medical care. I have also worked to promote accessibility and inclusion through initiatives such as Treat Accessibly and by organizing accessible viewing areas at events like the Milton Santa Claus Parade.
Through my leadership at WeeCare, Ubuntu WeeCare, and WillowCare, I remain committed to advancing compassionate care, empowering families, and creating meaningful change in the healthcare system.
